Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare work
   • Safety issues are identified, in accordance with Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and workplace procedures
   • Work requirements are identified from relevant personnel and documentation, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • Preoperational checks are carried out on HRSG plant in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and workplace procedures and site requirements
2. Analyse system faults
   • Causes of abnormal HRSG plant operating conditions are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures, by analysing technical and operational information
   • Corrective action is taken, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • HRSG plant integrity and personnel safety is maintained, in accordance with workplace procedures, through consultation with appropriate personnel and technical and operational documentation
   • Appropriate personnel are notified, in accordance with workplace procedures, when defects are detected
3. Work requirements are identified from relevant personnel and documentation, in accordance with workplace procedures
4. Preoperational checks are carried out on HRSG plant in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and workplace procedures and site requirements
5. Operate HRSGplantduring shutdown
   • Supplementary firing system is placed in and out of service, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
6. Gas turbine exhaust gas flow and power output are adjusted to achieve required steam temperature, pressure and flow conditions, in accordance with workplace procedures
7. Feedwater flows are adjusted to achieve required steam conditions and demand in accordance with workplace procedures
8. HRSG plant is maintained in required out of service condition, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
9. HRSG plant is operated within limits of its' design, in accordance with workplace procedures
10. HRSG plant is monitored, in accordance with workplace procedures to detect deviations from required operating conditions
11. Corrective action is taken to rectify HRSG plant abnormalities, in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and workplace procedures
12. Test HRSG plant operationduring shut down
    • Tests are performed, in accordance with workplace procedures
13. Power generation system and HRSG plant are observed for correct operational response, in accordance with workplace procedures
14. Corrective action is taken, in accordance with workplace procedures, when response does not meet documentation, HRSG plant integrity or personnel safety requirements
15. HRSG plant is returned to required operational status upon completion of testing, in accordance with workplace procedures
    • Causes of abnormal HRSG plant operating conditions are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures, by analysing technical and operational information
16. Corrective action is taken, in accordance with workplace procedures
17. HRSG plant integrity and personnel safety is maintained, in accordance with workplace procedures, through consultation with appropriate personnel and technical and operational documentation
18. Appropriate personnel are notified, in accordance with workplace procedures, when defects are detected
19. Complete documentation
    • HRSG plant problems, movements and status are reported, in accordance with workplace procedures
20. Documentation is updated, in accordance with workplace procedures
